Events
In Curious Expedition 2, Events are text-based storytelling. Like in text adventure games there is a story and actions you can choose from. There are many of those Events and they are handled procedurally so that a lot of different stories can emerge from different compositions of Events.

Encounter Events
While traveling on the map you can encounter different people and beasts. There are many different events for encountering islanders. How these events turn out often depends on your standing. In these encounter events, you often have the possibility to gain standing by asking the islanders something about their tribe or by giving them a gift. You can also ask them the way to the village or even ask them for some food.
Night Rest Events
Every time you decide to rest, the game will trigger a rest event. Depending on how much Sanity you currently have it will be negative or positive. If you are under the 30 threshold (represented by a golden tick on the sanity spiral) you will get an unfavorable event, whereas if you are over it the event will be more helpful.
Paris Tavern Events
Before every expedition, you go to the Boussole cassée in Paris and have a drink the evening ahead of your departure. This happens right after choosing your sponsor for the expedition. These are often very convenient events where you can earn some extra funds or find another person to join your crew. There is also a probability to get the help of famous explorers like Jules Verne, Sacagawea, Feihong, Annie Oakley, Isabella Bird, or Percy Fawcett.
