While traveling you can encounter a multitude of people and living things. On every island, you will be able to encounter locals and animals. Some animals will be friendly and others very dangerous.
The color behind their avatar indicates whether they are friendly or hostile. If the background is green you can approach them and it will trigger an encounter Event where you can learn something about the tribe or interact with them in different ways. If the background is red you can approach them as well but you can only decide to trigger a fight.
|Human Tribes||They can be encountered on Grasslands, Drylands, and the Prehistoric biome.|
|Salamander||The Salamander people live in the Archipelago biome. They like to barter with sea shells.|
|Mole||The Mole people live in the Cavern biome.|
|Pale Mask||The Pale Masks are a foreign tribe that come to the islands through a portal. They take over the local tribe and corrupt their villages. They can be encountered on any biome as well as on their homeland, the corrupted biome. This tribe is part of the first free DLC 1.1.0.|
|Trader||The trader is a useful encounter if you are in the need of supplies.|
|The Duke||The Duke is a giant sea cucumber that can create potions out of edible items. It features an experimental crafting system to create useful potions. This is also part of the first free DLC 1.1.0.|
|Neutral Animals||You can often encounter animals on islands which are indifferent to your presents.|
|Enemies||The islands are also populated with dangerous animals and other monsters. When traveling into their Aggro Zone they will spot and follow you.|
