Editing Challenges

There are often situations with unpredictable outcomes, that are part luck, part skill. For example, ''searching a shipwreck, entering a cave without lights, or convincing someone to leave you in peace''. In this kind of situation, you have to do a '''dice challenge'''. You have to roll your dice and get at least a certain outcome to win the challenge. If you win the dice challenge the following events will be very good and if you fail they will be really bad.

The dice challenges are about getting '''certain color outcomes''' (for example 2 green, or 2 red, or 1 red and 1 green).

The more dice you have (trek members dice + weapon dice) the more chances you have to win the challenges. In the same way, upgraded dice with fewer white faces will be helpful to win challenges. Spare equipment in your inventory can be swapped in before committing to a roll, so be sure you have the best gear for the job equipped.

There are various consumable [[items]] that can be used during challenges to add in a guaranteed success for a certain color of dice. [[Torch|Torches]], for example, will aid in searching challenges that require [[die|green die]] {{green die face}} such as [[caves]], [[shrines]], and [[Ship Wrecks|ship wrecks]]. These items will show up on the challenge UI and can be added in before or after your character has a chance to roll for the challenge. As you could possibly succeed without the use of these items, it is best to use them after  rolling. Be aware that only one type of item can be used per challenge check. So you could use one torch and one tonic to get 2 success die, but not two torches in the same challenge.
